Cleveland Heights Tigers Youth Sports

We are extremely excited about the direction of our new youth football and cheer program. With this new partnership, participants in the Heights youth football programs will get exposed to the techniques and philosophies coached at the High school and Jr. High school levels within the district. In essence, we have become an official feeder program for the Cleveland Heights High School. This program is similar to what Coach Rotsky has successfully implemented at Maple Heights and Mayfield Heights High Schools. This marks the first time in Cleveland Heights Football history that a community-based youth football team is officially affiliated with the High School football program. This will enhance the competitiveness of all kids in the program, from the mitey mites up to varsity players. We would like to extend our appreciation to Coach Rotsky and his staff for implementing such a program. We are looking forward to this new venture.

In addition to the efforts of Coach Rotsky and Larry Shaw and Kristin Hughes Heights athletic director, we have been fortunate enough to be endorsed and sponsored by Barry Coefield, Height High graduate and starting defensive tackle for the Superbowl champions New York Giants of the NFL. Barry attended our first registration and skill camp and spoke with the kids and parents about the importance of school, hard work, and dedication. His message echoed the very sentiment of our philosophy of serving as mentors for the youths we serve in our community. Barry's contribution to our program, in addition to funds donated from the NFL, will allow us to purchase new equipment and uniforms for our youth program.

We would like to express our gratitude and appreciation for the time and efforts put forth by this talented and gifted young man. There are many athletes in the world who claim to give back to their community, but very few of them actually do. Barry Coefield is a true role model for the youth in our city, and exemplifies the importance of hard work, academics, and family values in reaching your goals in life. We are thankful for his time, generosity, and support.

The efforts and commitment of members of our community and families will enable the youth in our city to participate in a first-class organization. We are very excited about our football program.

Our Mission/Commitment

The entire Heights Tigers organization recognizes and promotes family unity. While we love the "game" of football, we also realize the importance of academics and quality family time for our young athletes.

Our family of coaches, proficiency tutors, and family liaisons are committed to promoting physical fitness through tackle football, cheerleading, and dance, in a fun and safe environment. Additionally, our organizations leaders will place a strong emphasis on achieving academic excellence for boys and girls between the ages of 5-12. The teaching of teamwork and good sportsmanship will assist in the both the physical and mental development of the youths we serve. The Tigers staff is dedicated to the promotion of diversity and fair play for all of their players and cheerleaders.

We are excited about building a strong and positive program within the community, and we are dedicated to this commitment. We invision this football program to be something that this city will be proud of, and we are glad that you and your children are on board. Go Tigers!
